Supervision scope
- incoming inspection of materials and verification of certificates;
- inspection of reinforcement and concreting of cast-in-place structures, sampling;
- sign-off of concealed works and maintenance of as-built documentation;
- verification of quantities in contractors' certificates of completed work;
- programme compliance monitoring and weekly reporting to the client.
Outcome
- more than 300 defects identified and rectified before structures were covered up;
- unjustified quantities worth around 4 % of the estimated cost removed from certificates;
- the project was commissioned with no comments from the regulatory authorities.
The work was carried out by certified technical supervision engineers covering structural and building services disciplines.
