The extension solves the problem of three-shift teaching: once it is commissioned, the school will be able to move to two shifts. The new block connects to the existing building via a heated link bridge at first-floor level.
Scope of work
- cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame with seismic ring beams for a magnitude 8 zone;
- 12 classrooms plus chemistry and robotics labs;
- 18 × 30 m sports hall with changing rooms and an equipment store;
- movement joint and strengthening of the adjoining structures of the old building;
- connection to existing utilities, including rerouting of a section of the heating main.
Work organisation
The construction site is fully separated from the school grounds, materials are delivered via a separate entrance, and noisy works are carried out at weekends and during school holidays.
Current stage
The building envelope is closed; finishing works and installation of ventilation and low-voltage systems are under way. The sports hall flooring is being prepared.
