The sports complex was built for residents of a fast-growing district of Shymkent and for a youth sports school. The building is designed for training and for hosting city-level competitions.
Facilities
- 24 × 42 m multi-purpose sports hall with seating for 400;
- martial arts hall and gym;
- changing rooms, showers, a medical room and coaches' rooms;
- open car park and an outdoor workout area.
Structural solutions
- long-span steel trusses spanning 30 m with no intermediate supports;
- earthquake-resistant frame for magnitude 8 with braced bays;
- translucent roof strips for natural daylight in the hall;
- supply and extract ventilation with cooling for summer heat of up to +42 °C.
The sports hall floor is sports parquet on a shock-absorbing sub-base.
