The agricultural complex, with greenhouses and drip irrigation, was spending a significant share of its budget on electricity. The 1.2 MW solar plant operates in self-consumption mode with a grid connection.
Plant components
- 2,200 bifacial monocrystalline modules on galvanised mounting structures;
- screw piles with no concrete — fast installation and preservation of the soil;
- grid-tied inverters with online generation monitoring;
- 0.4/10 kV transformer substation and revenue metering;
- fencing, CCTV and a maintenance area.
Outcome
Annual generation is estimated at 1.9 million kWh, with a payback period of around six years. Design, grid operator approvals and construction were completed in six months.
