The rotational camp is being built for the personnel of an oil-producing company 90 km from the nearest settlement. The company acts as general contractor, including delivery of materials and setting up its own construction site camp.
Camp facilities
- four two-storey accommodation blocks with twin rooms;
- a 160-seat canteen with a catering kitchen and cold rooms;
- medical post, laundry, gym and administration block;
- diesel power plant with standby capacity and water treatment facilities;
- on-site roads, lighting and perimeter fencing.
Site conditions
The soils are saline, so the foundations are made of sulphate-resistant concrete with brush-applied waterproofing. The buildings are designed for summer heat of up to +45 °C and strong winds: reinforced roof fixings and solar-control glazing.
Current stage
Foundations for all blocks are complete; erection of the accommodation block frames and laying of external utilities are under way.
