For an oil industry service base, we built an access road from the highway, a heavy equipment yard and a complete package of external utilities. The works were carried out with the company's own fleet of road-building equipment.
Scope of work
- replacement of weak soil and construction of an embankment with geotextile;
- crushed stone base and two-layer asphalt concrete pavement rated for 13 t axle loads;
- yard for 120 items of heavy equipment with concrete wash pads;
- stormwater drainage with an oil separator and discharge of treated runoff;
- 10 kV cable lines and external lighting on LED columns;
- water main and fire hydrants.
Particular challenges
The high and aggressive groundwater required polymer pipes and sulphate-resistant concrete for the manholes. The project was handed over in six months, allowing for summer temperature restrictions on asphalt laying.
